Abstract: The idea of WORST was born in September 2003 in Rome (Italy) during a boring day, wasted studying physics and mathematics. The outcome of the coffee-break was a decision to organise a Worldwide Association for students that have abandoned technology academies to join real life or embrace any other kind of course, as a response to the tedious BEST, Board of European Students in Technology. WORST Fake Courses are the core activity: these are events about one year in length, uniting students of technology from all over the world to apply their ideas on a technological subject. However, while these subjects are of an attractive and innovative nature, mixing various topics in engineering education, education on itself is not the only goal of these events: equally important are expanding horizons, improving cultural understanding and in general providing students of technology with the opportunity to experience something unique for no cost.
